Our blog will updated weekly to keep you in touch with the weekly news and events in our school. Please feel free to like, share and comment on our posts. We hope you enjoy!

The pupils, parents, staff and Board of Management of Glencastle National School and Special Classes would like to express our sincere thanks to Michelle O Donnell, her family, and friends who kindly donated this Sensory Pod to our school.
Michelle and her group of staunch supporters (some of whom are pictured above ) completed the West of Ireland Mini Marathon in 2018.
The monies raised on this occasion were used to purchase an amazing Sensory Pod in memory of Michelle's son, our past pupil and Little Star, Tommy.
Michelle and all the ladies involved in this fundraiser are very thankful for the donations they received from our local community, both at home and abroad, and are delighted that the monies raised have been used for the benefit of the pupils in our school.
Glencastle School would like to thank Murray's Medical Equipment for installing this wonderful resource on-site. The children will reap the rewards of this Sensory Pod for many years to come and Tommy's memory will live on in our school. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís.
The pupils and staff of Glencastle National School always enjoy having visitors and anyone who would like to see this wonderful Sensory Pod would be very welcome to visit, by prior arrangements.

Our Mission
Scoil Mhuire, Gleann a' Chaisil is a co-educational, Catholic Primary School which strives to provide a well - ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.
While Scoil Mhuire, Gleann a' Chaisil is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition of all other religions.
Our school will strive to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development of teachers through staff development programmes.
Our school will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contacts.
Our school will endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community.
Our school will promote gender equity amongst all the teachers, staff and pupils.

All our children are like Butterflies in the wind
Some can fly higher than others;
Each one flies the best they can,
A journey we all share together.
Why compare one against the other
When;
Each one is different!
Each one is special!
Each one makes us proud!
Each one has their unique place within our school.

Inclusion works to the advantage of everyone.
We all have things to learn and we all have something to teach.
