We celebrated Active Schools week in Glencastle National School at the beginning of the month.Our Active Schools Week encouraged students to be more physically active and enjoy movement through fun activities,dance,sports and challenges.During this week ,we promoted healthy lifestyles,teamwork,inclusion and positive attitudes towards physical activity in schools.

We wore odd socks to school to raise awareness of World Down Syndrome Day. 21/3 We raised funds for Mayo Down Syndrome Association.

We had great fun celebrating World Book Day in our classroom.We dressed up as our favourite characters,we read our favourite stories to one another and we designed our own book marks.

We were delighted to welcome two superb guides from the Ballycroy Visitor Center,Wild Nephin National Park to our school this week.Th ey delivered informative Powerpoint presentations on Biodiversity and the Flora and Fauna within the National Park and the local area.We examined pond samples from the Ballycroy National Park and discovered a newt and diving beetle within the samples.Th e highlight of the visit was seeing and learning about the Native animals of the National P

Well done to our prize-winner in the Garda Christmas Colouring Competition 2025. We are so very proud of her excellent artwork.

The children and staff came together in our new school hall to celebrate a Prayer Service on Thursday,27th November, as part of Catholic Schools Week 2026.We gathered to remember and pray for our loved ones-family members, past pupils, parents, staff, friends, neighbours and all who have died. Well done to everyone who took part in the readings and prayers. In our Holy Space, we decorated our November Remembrance Tree with the names of those who have passed away and now rest
