We were honoured to have past pupil Seamus Howard , who made his debut with the Mayo senior panel, visit us today 20th March ‘2026 . Seamus presented us with his Mayo Jersey and joined us on the Astro pitch for a light training session.

We celebrated Active Schools week in Glencastle National School at the beginning of the month.Our Active Schools Week encouraged students to be more physically active and enjoy movement through fun activities,dance,sports and challenges.During this week ,we promoted healthy lifestyles,teamwork,inclusion and positive attitudes towards physical activity in schools.

We had great fun celebrating World Book Day in our classroom.We dressed up as our favourite characters,we read our favourite stories to one another and we designed our own book marks.

We were delighted to welcome two superb guides from the Ballycroy Visitor Center,Wild Nephin National Park to our school this week.Th ey delivered informative Powerpoint presentations on Biodiversity and the Flora and Fauna within the National Park and the local area.We examined pond samples from the Ballycroy National Park and discovered a newt and diving beetle within the samples.Th e highlight of the visit was seeing and learning about the Native animals of the National P

The children and staff came together in our new school hall to celebrate a Prayer Service on Thursday,27th November, as part of Catholic Schools Week 2026.We gathered to remember and pray for our loved ones-family members, past pupils, parents, staff, friends, neighbours and all who have died.
